Structures shaped my work in the early 1980s. Until, in 1983, my love for the human figure suddenly resurfaced. It was the time when we were moving to the rhythm of the New Wave, and I took over teaching in a colleague's life drawing course. departure!
Pina Bausch made the Wuppertal dance theater world famous and Marcia Hayde led the Stuttgart ensemble to world fame. Movement was an important means of expressing human feelings. But movement, although the limbs were in the same position, could also stand for different moments of human feelings and meanings.
Exploring these emotional expressions and comparing them was the starting point of the cycle. Graphic lines were added fairly quickly to reinforce the expressions created by human figures evolving from structures.
